Greetings in Christ!
I hope and pray you've had a good week.
It's been a busy first week back from vacation for me.
We've been busy at church preparing for our "Back to School Bash" at FCC this coming Sunday (07.28.24).
We distributed about 250 flyers to individuals, homes, schools, and businesses within a few miles of the church.
The CLF gals organized school supplies to be available for students on Sunday.
This is a huge blessing for today's families. I heard on the radio this week that families spend an average of $300 on back-to-school items per child.
I say "THANKS" for all the help we've had. It takes a team effort to pull off an event of this magnitude!
This event is an outreach to our community with Inflatables, Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Lesson/Crafts, Music, and more!
Please pray that we can reach folks in our community who don't know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!
Pray, too, for the weather as there is a chance of rain on Sunday afternoon.
We do live in some pretty dark and crazy times. We tend to think "Times have never been this bad."
In reality, however, things have been worse. Genesis tells us that there was a time when the world was so wicked that God decided to destroy EVERYTHING in it. All except for one FAITHFUL and RIGHTEOUS man named Noah (and his family).
What are God's people to do in times like today?
The challenge for us is to live today like Noah did. We are to be a light in a dark world. If Noah did it in such a messed-up world, why can't we do it?
Let's not let FEAR get the best of us.
This coming Sunday (07.28.24), we will talk a little bit about the emotion of FEAR and how we can get a proper handle on it.
I'll be preaching another sermon in our series of messages looking at the Old Testament book of Psalms. We'll look at arguably the most beloved Psalm of all -- the 23rd Pslam.
We'd love to see you on Sunday at FCC. Our Bible School starts at 9:30 am and Worship at 10:30 am.
God Bless,
Greg H.
