Greetings in Christ! Welcome to the month of May! I hope you are having a great week!
Here at First Christian Church, we've had a busy, but good one.
This past Sunday (04.27.25), we were involved with three different services on the same day.
We held our regular Sunday morning worship service. During the afternoon, we held our once-a-month service at the Pine Meadows Post Acute (nursing facility).
In addition, we held a Sunday night worship service at FCC for a fraternity and sorority on UK's campus. This was a great blessing because we were asked to lead this service by the Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
The college service on Sunday evening was a great success as we had somewhere in the ballpark of 50-55 students in attendance.
In fact, between all three services on Sunday, I estimated we "touched" somewhere around 165-175 people!
Rafaelito says we've also had several views of our Sunday morning service on Facebook.
In the Gospels, Jesus often talked about heaven as being like a great banquet. Jesus also taught that His banquet will have people at it whom you would not expect.
These are people who did not have high status in society during this life, but they trusted and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
I pray that as you look out at our gatherings and services at FCC, you will see people from many different backgrounds - rich and poor / young and old / as well as from different cultures.
One of the things we want to do as a church is to touch as many lives as we possibly can. I pray the Lord will bless us with even more opportunities!
One quick update: Will will postpone our 2nd quarter service project until next week.
Tomorrow - Saturday, May 3rd - we had scheduled to help clean up the Elizabeth Street Park, located near our church building.
However, rain is in the forecast. Therefore, we have rescheduled the project for next Saturday, May 10th (10 am - 12 pm).
This coming Sunday (May 4th) at FCC, I will begin a new series of sermons about "FAMILY."
Looking around our communities today in America, we see many families in crisis. Unfortunately, we are seeing some of the results of humans attempting to redefine gender, marriage, and family.
Perhaps it would be wise to go to the Bible and see what God’s Word says concerning marriage and family.
God bless and hope to see you soon!
In Him,
Greg H.
