Greetings in Christ. I pray you are having a good week so far.
With Memorial Day now behind us, it means that summer is here!
This past week, we had our last Wednesday gathering before our summer break. We plan on resuming our weekly format in August.
Many of our college students have gone home for the summer break.
We also said "goodbye" to our friends Stanley & Val Araujo as they headed back to Brazil on Wednesday, May 28th.
I will be on vacation from June 5th-June 14th. My oldest daughter Autumn is getting married in Florida on Saturday, June 7th.
I pray that we can "exhale" and find some rest and relaxation this summer.
However, I pray that we will all stay involved with the church body here at FCC!
Please keep our next big outreach project - Vacation Bible School - in your prayers!
VBS will be for children 3 years old through 5th grade. We'll have a kickoff on Saturday, June 21st (11 am-1 pm). VBS will then take place nightly from 6:30 - 8:30 pm from June 23rd-26th.
I encourage you to REACH OUT to any young families with children around you and invite them!
We have flyers available. Please take one and post it where a lot of eyes will notice.
When King Saul died, David could have said a lot of things about the way Saul treated him poorly and how he threatened his life on numerous occasions.
He did not. He chose to show Mercy, Grace, and Forgiveness.
In the New Testament, we see how Peter showed a similar response when he was asked to go to Cornelius' house. Cornelius was not a Jew and was seen as an unclean pagan.
It was God's plan, however, for ALL people to come to know Him through Jesus Christ. Peter obeyed and went.
I am so thankful that we are all shown grace and forgiveness from God.
For true believers in Jesus, God does not see their sin, but he sees Jesus. Psalm 103:12 says it like this, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
We owe Jesus our eternal gratitude for standing between our sins and God. I pray that you and I can be as gracious with people who hurt or offend us as Jesus has been with us and our sins.
I pray that we'll see you soon and maybe this coming Sunday at FCC!
God bless,
Greg H.
