I was Blind, but Now I See!
November 7, 2025, 11:00 AM
Hello everyone and I pray you all have enjoyed a good week!
Traveling around town this week, I've especially enjoyed seeing many trees in full color!
It reminded me to thank the Lord for the gift of sight that allows me to see all the beautiful colors of Fall in full display.
I pray you stop for a few moments and enjoy them NOW because it won't last for long!

In the 9th chapter of John's Gospel, Jesus restores a man's sight.
It causes a big stir because Jesus heals this man, blind from birth, on a Sabbath. The religious leaders were really upset with Jesus!
I love what the healed man says when they keep asking him for information on Jesus. The former blind man says this, "I don't know that much about Jesus, but this I do know: I was once BLIND, but now I SEE!" What a great testimony!
This should encourage all of us to share our faith with others to the best of our ability – even if we feel we don’t really know all that much.
So often, many of us think (incorrectly) that we do not have a testimony. That is so not true. If we are IN Christ, we have experienced a life changed by Christ. That is a powerful testimony!
One of my Bible College professors, Tim Wallingford, recently wrote this, "American Christians have denfind the church as a place to go. The church we read about in the New Testament was very different. The WOW was not the Sunday morning show, but the miracle of transformation - the changed lives of the believers.”
The subject of "IDENTITY" is what we've been talking about recently on Sundays at FCC. I pray that we are all developing a better understanding of what/who the church is and who we are in Christ! I pray that we will continue to see more and more lives transformed through the work of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. We have several folks close to making a decision for baptism right now.

As the new month arrives, I'm declaring this will be a "NOVEMBER to REMEMBER" at First Christian Church.
We kicked off the month on Saturday, November 1st with a Meal Packing event at FCC sponsored by Barbara Rendel and Scatter Joy MinistriesFCC teamed up with Big Hill Christian Church in Richmond, KY, and some other volunteers as we packed 25,000 meals for children in Liberia, Africa!
In fact, November is loaded with "Special Sundays." It will be a time to LOOK BACKLOOK AROUND, and LOOK FORWARD to see what God has done, is doing, and will do in the future!
Here's the lineup:

Sunday, November 9th: "Homecoming Sunday" -- FCC celebrates being 86 years old!
Sunday, November 16th: "Missions Sunday" -- An Emphasis on the Missions we Support at FCC and Terry Allcorn, President of KY Christian University, will be preaching!
Sunday, November 23rd: "Commitment Sunday" -- We're encouraging people to commit their lives to Christ and His Church during this weekend!
Sunday, November 30th: "Christmas Kickoff" -- It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year!

I pray we'll see you at FCC this coming Sunday, November 9th. Not only will we celebrate HOMECOMING, but I will continue in our sermon series called “IDENTITY CRISIS.” We will be talking about better understanding "Who I Am in Christ."

Until then...

God Bless,
Greg H.
