Keeping It Simple!
November 21, 2025, 12:00 PM
Greetings in Christ! I pray you are having a good week so far, and I also pray you have a wonderful weekend.

What does God require of us humans?
People have been asking that for thousands of years.
The Old Testament prophet Micah records a great outline for God's expectations of His people: "To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)
The problem was that the people, by and large, did not do this.
Eventually, God sent His only Son to come and LIVE these characteristics out for all of mankind to see and follow.
When we, the people of God, follow Jesus with our whole hearts, we will start looking and acting more and more like Jesus. We become more compassionate and quicker to do justice.
The final chapter of John's Gospel shows Jesus restoring Simon Peter and preparing His disciples to continue the mission Jesus had started.
Peter had many questions for Jesus about specific things. Jesus keeps it simple, though. Jesus, in essence, says, "Don't worry about others, Peter!"
We would be wise to note and follow the last thing Jesus says to Peter: "As for you, follow me." (see John 21:22)
Jesus, thank you for making some things simple. I pray that we would all simply follow You! We will GO where You lead us and DO what You want us to do, LIVING as You lived while here on Earth.

It's going to be a special weekend for us at First Christian Church of Lexington, KY.
It's one that I've been praying about for a long time.
People will have an opportunity to do as Jesus asks and follow Him!
OSunday, November 23rd, we'll be encouraging folks to make a decision to be committed to Christ and what is happening at FCC.
We’re calling this "COMMITMENT DAY," and our prayer is that many folks will be making decisions to 1) be BAPTIZED, 2) to make FCC their CHURCH HOME, or 3) be MORE INVOLVED in SERVING at FCC.
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 22ndwe are having a baptism class at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall at FCC. The purpose of the class is for folks wanting to get baptized to understand what the Bible says about Baptism and why we do what we do at FCC concerning Baptism.

We have several folks who will be coming and taking part in the class with the intention of getting baptized. Please keep that in your prayers!

May God bless, and hope to see you again soon!

In Him,
Greg H.
