Hello again and greetings on this wonderful March morning!
The temperatures outside are warming up with the arrival of March. I feel like almost everyone is ready for winter to be over and spring to take place.
Springtime allows us to see some of God's handiwork as plants and vegetation come alive again! And it is glorious!
The definition of glory is something beautiful, excellent, and renowned. It can also be described as worshipful praise, honor, and thanksgiving. For example, when we gather to worship, we should give glory to God.
This past Sunday (03.01.26) was a great day at FCC! Our Cheerful Heart Sunday was a great time of praise and worship of Jesus.
I am convinced that we get a little glimpse of the Glory of God when we set time to gather and worship the Lord on the first day of the week.
As we break the huddle and go our separate ways, we then take a little of God's Glory into the places we go on a daily basis -- to work, school, and into the neighborhood.
If we are to reflect the Lord’s glory, we should follow David's example found in the 26th Psalm: "Examine me, Lord, and put me to the test; Refine my mind and my heart. For Your goodness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. Lord, I love the dwelling of Your house, and the place where Your glory remains. Do not take my soul away along with sinners, nor my life with men of bloodshed, in whose hands is a wicked scheme, and whose right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; Redeem me, and be gracious to me. My foot stands on level ground; In the congregations, I will bless the Lord."
Lord, help us today to spend time in Your presence and to reflect Your glory in everything we do and say.
Here are some reminders about this upcoming weekend:
PRAYER TIME: Our Men's Prayer Breakfast for March will take place at IHOP (Nicholasville Road) at 9 am on Saturday, March 7th.
SPRING CLEANING: Following the Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, March 7th, we have a "Spring Cleaning" scheduled at the church building from 10 am-12 pm. Join us for some cleanup in the building and on the grounds.
TIME CHANGE: Don't forget to turn your CLOCKS FORWARD this Saturday night (March 7th) in observance of Daylight Saving Time.
NEW SERMON SERIES: Finally, I'll be starting a new series of messages - "MIRACLES of the MESSIAH" - this coming Sunday, March 8th. In these sermons, we'll be looking at some of the powerful miracles Jesus performed while on earth. I hope and pray we'll see you at FCC this coming Sunday when we'll talk about Jesus' ability to HEAL - physically and spiritually!
Have a great weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing you again soon!
God Bless,
Greg Herriford
