Restoring Our Souls
June 6, 2025, 3:00 PM
Greetings in Christ!
I hope and pray you have had a good week.
As you read this, I am in Florida for my daughter Autumn's wedding (on Saturday, June 7th) and taking a little vacation time as well.
I left Lexington yesterday (Thursday, June 5th) and I will be back to preach at FCC on Sunday, June 15th.

Vacations are a time for some restoration.
All human beings need some time away to rest, relax, and reflect.
In the 23rd Psalm, David says this about the shepherd,“he restores my soul.”
Jesus is that "Good Shepherd" who brings restoration to His followers.
It does not mean, though, it will always be an easy journey.
Life can be difficult and some days can be very challenging.
Sometimes we may wonder where God is during difficult days. Jesus is there, though. As the 23rd Psalm goes on to say, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
As believers in Christ we do not have to depend on comfortable circumstances as a barometer to indicate if we are in good standing with the Lord. All that was necessary to demonstrate God’s unwavering love has already been done. Jesus paid it ALL on the cross. While we were still sinners, He died for all of our sins!
That fact alone should bring a good bit of restoration to our weary souls!

In my absence and in the pulpit this coming Sunday (06.08.25) will be Randy Hardman. Randy serves as the Executive Director of Assurance.
We here at First Christian Church stand with ministries like Assurance (assuranceforlife.org) in helping protect and save lives of the unborn here in Central KY.
Once again this year, FCC is participating in their Baby Bottle Blessings program. Many congregations participate from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day, collecting change, bills and checks and putting them in baby bottles provided by Assurance. The bottles will be collected and turned into Assurance after Father's Day.
BTW - Assurance projects they've helped save the lives of over 5,000 babies since 1985!
If you haven't already, pick up a bottle and bring it back filled with change, bills and checks! Will you join us at FCC as we stand for God and for LIFE?
We only have a few days to go in the Baby Bottle Blessings. So please help out if you can!
Also, please come out and support Randy and Assurance this coming Sunday at FCC!

I pray that we'll see you again soon!

God bless,
Greg H.
